OPEN ON BROE NOW

Entries for the Bedford Eights & Fours Head on Sunday 9 February are now open on BROE.

The events has almost reached capacity, so do not delay in placing an entry if you are thinking of racing.  Where divisions are shown on BROE as not currently accepting entries, this situation may change as crews withdraw before entries close, so there is still time to enter on the ‘Waiting List’ on BROE and we will try to accommodate you where possible.

A ‘Waiting List’ for a reduced range of events that we are seeking further entries for has now been opened on BROE.  Should you wish to join the waiting list then you can nominate your preferred division in the ‘Notes’ section of the entry form, but this will be subject to space becoming available in those divisions before the time of the draw.  There is still some time before the formal close of entries on 31 January and experience shows that some crews will withdraw before entries close, for a variety of reasons.

We aim to be as fair as possible when selecting which crews move from the Wating List to the main draw.  A number of criteria are used including, inter alia and not necessarily in the stated order: the order in which entries are made; the categories that we are seeking further crews for to make viable events;  entries that have been paid (via payment card on BROE or by BACS transfer); clubs that have already made entries and clubs that we have enjoyed hosting before at Bedford.  We will do our best to accommodate everyone that wishes to compete, but sadly our river has a finite capacity.

Please note that in common with most events, any crew that has not withdrawn by the time entries close will be deemed to have accepted that they have made a fully chargeable entry.  We very much hope that river and weather conditions are kind to us all, but in the event of a cancellation of the event then we will refund entry fees, with a possible minor deduction per seat to cover the unavoidable costs of hosting such an event.  Our committee thank our many suppliers for their flexibility and understanding when previous events have been cancelled, minimising such costs.
