1950m course downstream on the River Great Ouse
This Head Race will be run under British Rowing’s Rules of Racing and RowSafe, operating the Personal Ranking System as defined in Rule 3 of the Rules of Racing.
Racing will take place over seven divisions throughout the day, clubs may enter any crew in any division.
Entries have now reached capacity in many divisions, but space remains where indicated on BROE. Should you wish to enter but your preferred division is not available you can join the ‘Waiting List‘ division with any division preferences noted in the ‘Notes’ section on BROE, as we are bound to have some crews withdraw between now and the closing date for entries.
Crews will be taken from the waiting list and transferred into the draw dependent upon:
- whether we need the entry to make an event viable;
- whether the club has entries in the Head already;
- when the entry was added to the Waiting List and
- whether the entry fee is paid or not.
Further information about entries, divisions and events offered can be found on BROE. Entries close on BROE on Thursday 3rd April.

Parking
We are reliant on the goodwill of Bedford Borough Council for the use of Longholme for trailer parking at our events throughout the year. The riverside grass area is to be treated with respect and all litter is to be removed. Parking spaces for trailers and towing vehicles will also be marked out on The Embankment between Newnham Avenue and Bushmead Avenue.
