Bedford Rowing Club is indebted to the generous sponsorship given by a number of companies, organisations and individuals. The past few years have seen several important developments in the club both on and off the water, with improvements to the boat fleet, transport capability and the boathouse as a result of successful partnerships with major sponsors. Our events offer an excellent opportunity for our many smaller sponsors to enable us to run prestigious regattas such as the Bedford Quarts Sprint, famous in the rowing commmunity for its pewter quart tankards, and contribute to the maintenance of a fleet of boats capable of competing at the top levels of the sport.

Major Sponsors

Marshall (Bedford) Land Rover, based in Riverfield Drive, Bedford, has greatly assisted the Club by providing a Land Rover Freelander 2. This vehicle has proved to be invaluable as a towing vehicle for the club trailer. The Freelander 2, fully liveried in Bedford Rowing Club colours, looks set to become a well-known visitor to regattas across the country. A press release gives more details.

Charles Wells has given the club tremendous support over a number of years. As the main suppliers to the club bar, our members and visitors alike are very aware of Charles Wells' main product! In addition to helping the club's social side by giving the opportunity to run many 'promotion' nights, Charles Wells have donated a number of boats over the years. Two of them, the eight "Bombardier" and coxless four "Eagle" bear the names of the brewery's flagship ales. Charles Wells support a number of local sports and activities, including the "Blues", Bedford Rugby Club.

Bedford Quarts Sprint Regatta

At the Bedford Quarts Sprint Regatta, a number of companies and individuals assist the event by sponsoring one or more events. The running of an event such as the Quarts Sprint entails a considerable outlay of expenditure and the Club is extremely grateful to those that have assisted us with sponsorship. Sponsorship is a cost-effective way of gaining publicity at a very reasonable cost. As well as publicity through the local press, a glance through the results for recent events will show that clubs attend from a wide area covering London, the South East, the Midlands and beyond.
