A year is gone already. I have enjoyed being Captain of the club and with your backing I am ready to carry on.
Just a quick one this month. Not much has happened.
Events entered this month include The Veteran 4s Head, Kingston Small Boats Head and Star Club Head.
Winter training is started in earnest and fitness levels in the club seem to be improving. Keep it up!
As ever September is a bit of a quiet month for the racers.
Peterborough Regatta. The crews at this year’s summer regatta in Peterborough were mainly the junior squad.
Henley, as we all know, was a bit disappointing this year with our two entrants missing out on qualification. Both crews did their best and we look forward to our next attempt.
June started with Star Regatta. Our entry was again predominantly juniors. We did, however, get some good results. Our senior quad of Andy Taylor, Sam Baker, Kernius Malys and Matt Farley won the Open quad event.
May started with Bedford Regatta which is always a big test for our crews due to the number of schools and colleges that like to come.
The junior section were selected by the Eastern region to supply two quads at the Junior Inter Regional Regatta – Holmepierrepoint.
