Bar opening and letter from Social Club Chairman John Mingay.

With the rate of infection rising in Bedford the decision has been taken to not open on the 19th. It is planned for June 2nd but will review on a regular basis and if possible will open sooner.

4th May 2021

I am writing to you on behalf of the Bedford Rowing Club Social Club to let you know about some of the improvements to your membership the committee have made. I hope that this letter finds you keeping well at this difficult time. The social club committee appreciate and thank you for your continued support of the club.

Looking forward to the return to a more normal time when we can all socialize again. Once the club bar can open, the planned date is (hopefully) Wednesday 19th May, I can assure you that all measures to comply with Covid safety will be in place and adhered to. We look forward to you enjoying the hospitality and views across the river.

I am pleased to let you know that the annual subscription will be held at £10 per year.

A Bedford Rowing Club Social Club membership card will be posted to you in due course.

A new item to be introduced this year is a twice-yearly Club newsletter which will be available online and by post.

Your continued support of Bedford Rowing Club helps to support the active rowing members to be able to train and compete at local and National events. The rowing members are grateful for your continued support.

A themed Club night on the Second Friday of every month is planned.

Members may book the club room for their ‘parties’ at a reduced rate.

You are welcome to park your car at the club whilst visiting the club. However, please avoid Saturday mornings between 8am and 1pm to allow the rowers to ‘operate’.

A new outside seating area is being developed on the ‘end balcony’ for your use.

Yours faithfully,

John Mingay

Chairman BRSC
